At the launch of FinTECHTalents in 2018 – YellowDog commanded the stage with their story on how to unleash unlimited computing power in order to harness available and underutilised computers in the cloud. YellowDog returns for FinTECHTalents 2019. We caught up with the team to hear about ‘the story so far…’
So, what’s new? Any new products, super start team members, client wins? Can you tell us some of your greatest successes over the past 12 months?
Since the inaugural FinTECHTalents last year YellowDog has had a stellar year. We closed a new funding round in March 2019 to help us further scale our offering in Financial Services and also added some top talent to our Board, with ex Microsoft senior executive Reid Downey joining. The office and team have expanded in Bristol to support our growing client base and continue to develop our leading proposition.
Our proposition in Financial Services continues to expand, we added our Forwards Prediction Analytics technology to one of the world’s leading Analytics and Risks providers, increasing the utilisation of their existing infrastructure, enabling more workloads to be delivered without any additional investment in new hardware.
YellowDog continues to be recognised in the tech community picking up several awards this year, in addition we were also recognised as one of the Top 100 places to work for by Escape the City. We invest heavily in our people and our technology so it was fantastic to pick up this accolade recently.
Can you give us a spoiler on your ‘Story’ for FinTECHTalents 2019?
Cloud is not news anymore, the companies at the leading edge in Financial Services are opening themselves up and reaping the rewards of using multiple providers. There are big financial, environmental and performance benefits adding more intelligence when selecting where to place workloads. We will be discussing how taking a new approach can help your bottom line and the planet.
What’s next? What do you have planned for 2020?
The next 12 months will be an extremely busy period for us, as we implement YellowDog for our banking and insurance customers, while continuing to grow our media and entertainment business which focuses on providing global movie and VFX studios with the compute capacity they need to make their movies.
To ensure we deliver for our customers the YellowDog team will continue to expand with the best talent but as we add new talent our focus and direction won’t change. We pride ourselves on being a reliable partner for each customer, this mantra will continue into 2020 and beyond.
