We sat down with Ian Johnson, Managing Director (Europe) at Marqeta and Cyril Chiche, Co-Founder & CEO of Lydia at FTT Open Finance to discuss what it means to be a Digital Builder and how that has been put into practice at Lydia.
As Ian Johnson explains, the Age of the Digital Builder is one in which financial institutions and those that provide them with the technology tools to keep pace with a fast-changing industry work in profoundly different ways. Take a symbolic (and actual) step away from the PowerPoint slides, long explanatory documents and persuasive sales teams and instead focus on quality of the technology, speed of implementation and agility. Powered by APIs, Digital builders are collaborative by nature and understand that partners and marketplaces are very much part of successful projects and products.
As Cyril noted, Lydia, a mobile app for Financial Services is continually evolving. Working with partners, like Marqeta, who bring the ‘bricks to build their castle’ allows them to deliver on their current products and services whilst continuing to adapt and expand their offering.
Tune in as both Ian and Cyril share their views on how the industry is changing, including the future of payments, the role of Open Finance, the impact of COVID-19 and the ways in which the future has been changed for good. Meeting customer needs and supporting their aspirations, life goals and managing financial well-being may be under-pinned by best-in-class technology but remain, fundamentally very human endeavours.
As a bonus, you can hear more from Ian Johnson about some of these trends and opportunities as they relate to the future of Lending at FTT Lending 3.0 on 24th February.
