Conventional wisdom in the financial world is that large incumbent banks need to partner with smaller start-up and scale-up companies for a mutually beneficial relationship that aims to foster innovation and ultimately improve services. During this breakfast session we will look to go into the way partnerships and investments are used to do this within a global bank.

The session features Raman Bhatia, Head of the HSBC's UK Digital Bank, Asif Faruque, Head of Content at Level39 Technology Accelerator, and a member of HSBC's Strategic Innovation Investments team. SII was formed in 2014 to make venture-like minority investments into early stage companies that have a strategic relevance to HSBC, with $200m initially allocated. SII also manages consortium investments across the HSBC Group. We will also look to dig into a current fintech partnership and we will go into a panel focused on fintech investments in 2019. We look forward to welcoming you to HSBC as part of UK Fintech Week 2019.
