1. You attend a lot of fintech events; what do you think is key to making your attendance worthwhile?
Motivating agenda, interesting and diverse speakers, and real-life case studies whenever possible. New subject angles, fresh faces and outspoken presenters are a breath of fresh air!
Oh, and a good lunch is always a bonus.
2. You speak to and report on fintechs, financial institutions and tech providers on a daily basis. Do you think that the talent pipeline is a concern for them?
It is definitely a concern. With new technologies comes the need for people who know them. And as technology has come to the fore for practically every industry, everyone is hunting for tech talent. And the financial services space has to compete for talent with the trendier sectors and companies such as Google and Amazon.
3. What do you think are some of the key tech trends in FS over the next few years?
Mobile/digital, machine learning and artificial intelligence, collaboration with other players in the space as well as the cross-over to other industries, and figuring out how man and machine can work together!
4. Do you have a passion for Craft Beer?
Who doesn’t?!
