September, when summer has started to give up its fight and the smell of a freshly sharpened pencil can send your mind back to 1985 and Mr. Brown’s Algebra class. Despite it being, technically, over half way through the year – the autumn freshness and Back to School vibe will always represent a fresh start and new beginnings for many of us.
Last year we had hundreds of computer science students from our partner universities join the FinTech Festival. They ate lunch out of brown paper bags, carried craft beer into session and stood up and asked dozens of pointed, unapologetic questions of our speakers. The idea of FinTECHTalents was never meant to be a ‘recruitment fair’ – but instead be a community of people, ideas and projects that welcomes new talent into our industry with a promise of a creative and fulfilling career.
This year FinTECHTalents will be bigger and better than ever. Two new additions to the Festival – AITECHTalents and RegTECHTalents mean there will be even more projects and initiatives for our students to discover and explore. In addition to computer science, we have expanded our student groups to include design and business graduates. Access to the best and brightest talent on offer is a core theme of FinTECHTalents. In order to do that – we are putting on the most fun, interactive and community based FinTech event in the market today.
FinTECHTalents is planning a ‘student lounge’ where our university delegates can meet each other and arrange meetings with financial institutions and FinTech companies looking to hire. Each sponsor in our Exhibit Hall with be clearly labelled with a ‘We’re Hiring’ Flag, making it easier for talent to seek out exciting opportunities.
