Kate’s Meal Appeal – you can still donate
Kate’s Meal Appeal, the latest fundraiser from Comms for Good, launches at FTT with a bang, raising over £2000 and kicking off a year-long campaign to support charities that tackle food waste and feed our communities.
Kate’s Meal Appeal enjoyed a spectacular launch at the Fintech Talents Festival. It was great to see so many people get involved with the golf challenge and give so generously to the food charities we are supporting.
Kudos to the Enfuce team whose competitive spirit had them returning to the putting green again and again and again. And the noisiest players award goes to Ben Robinson from Aperture and Adrian Michaels from FirstWord Media – thanks for attracting lots of attention!
For anyone who didn’t manage to donate – fear not, there’s still time! The campaign will be running well into next year to ensure we can raise as much as possible to prevent food waste and help people get the food they need. Scan the QR code to donate:
Funds raised by Kate’s Meal Appeal will be split between the following three small charities:
UKHarvest – is on a mission to eliminate hunger and reduce food waste through the redistribution of quality surplus food and education. This charity collects unwanted food from supermarkets, hotels, restaurants etc, and distributes it to other charities. Its community kitchen, Nourish Hub, serves meals to paying and non-paying customers and hosts community events.
FoodCycle – is bringing together local communities in kitchens across the country. Their vision is to make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past. People from all walks of life are encouraged to come and meet, chat and eat meals made from surplus ingredients.
Chefs in Schools – is fuelling the future by transforming school food and food education. A programme run by professional chefs trains school kitchen staff to cook sustainable meals from scratch and teaches children about food.
Huge thanks to our generous sponsors, supporters and donors.
