“I think organizations need to rethink how they source the pipeline,” says Claudia Coppenolle, Director in GTB’s Chief Digital Office at Deutsche Bank.
Speaking to Hot Topics at FinTECHTalents 2018, Coppenolle advises that organisations of all sizes need to rethink, not only how they fill technology roles, but how they source those roles with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds that are needed to create the solutions of tomorrow.
Deutsche Bank recently implemented a reverse mentoring programme within the bank that matches senior staff with employees from younger generations in order to impart new knowledge, ideas and values that come into the organizations with Millennials.
“This new generation of people coming into the organization,” says Coppenolle. “What strikes me is there is a heightened sense of doing things for good, which personally strikes a nerve with me. There are different values, different beliefs, there is a much better understanding of technology and how we can use that technology. There are different channels we can use to raise awareness there are different networks we can plug in and I think that has definitely changed and shifted the way we can and will do business going forward.”
