At a very busy Fintech Talents Festival, we were delighted to find some time to speak about the BaaS market with George Toumbev, Chief Commercial Officer at NatWest Boxed.
In an increasingly competitive market with a growing range of providers, it was interesting to hear what sets NatWest Boxed apart. George pointed to 3 key differentiators:
- The NatWest brand and depth of relationships with a broad range of businesses, including most of the FTSE 250 helps foster trust based on a long and deep track record.
- He also pointed to their balance sheet and funding. NatWest Boxed has the capital and a sustainable funding model. That is particularly important to partners and customers given the challenging macroeconomic environment.
- He also noted the banking license itself and all the capabilities that come with along with that. Security, compliance and risk management processes, for example, take time and resource to build. Something that is difficult to replicate. As he notes, this is probably the most significant feature of what NatWest Boxed has to offer.
Do you want to learn more about what he views as some of the biggest opportunities for consumers and businesses? George has an well informed view of embedded finance, the key stakeholders and the compelling use cases being seen in the market.
