The Fintech Talents team, along with our partners at Marqeta, set off on an epic road trip to explore growing European fintech hubs. Three cities in one week – Paris, Stockholm and Berlin – yielded fantastic insight and the opportunity to speak to leading innovators along the way.
During the Berlin stop of the Fintech Talents Road Trip, we sat down with Björn Siegismund, the CEO of wevest, to get his thoughts into the future of the fintech landscape.
When it comes to industry innovation, Björn was quick to admit that a year ago, he would have been the first to say the possibilities of blockchain were the ones to watch as there were so many great things that investors could achieve with the technology. More recently, however, AI has taken centre stage in his thinking.
More specifically, ChatGPT.
Björn believes this powerful tool could change the world. What started with simple curiosity into the new craze has turned into mind-blowing possibilities. Through trial and error using the initial platform, Björn found there was a lot of room for error, but with more time spent and insights into the best prompts and questions to ask, he quickly came to see its potential.
He goes on to explain how at present, you still need to review the answers. But it provides a much quicker and easier way to find solutions, even to more complex challenges, such as programming. The developers at wevest have also started to experiment and have moved on to use ChatGPT 4 (the newer, paid-for version) and have already found the answers to be much more detailed, leading to even more exciting possibilities.
But with great power, comes great responsibility. Björn is also aware of the risks of such a powerful tool. Given the blur between the real and the AI curated, he fears that society faces challenges around not knowing what to believe. He also points to the magnitude of what powerful AI tools can lead to, such as the change to work life and the possibility of certain job roles becoming redundant.
Wevest is a digital Platform for wealth management, corporate transactions & asset tokenization, using technology to give their customers a greater experience throughout the whole investment cycle.
