The Fintech Talents team, along with our partners at Marqeta, set off on an epic road trip to explore growing European fintech hubs. Three cities in one week – Paris, Stockholm and Berlin – yielded fantastic insight and the opportunity to speak to leading innovators along the way.
During the Paris stop of the Fintech Talents Road Trip we caught up with Claire Calmejane, the Chief Innovation Officer at Société Générale, who delved into her thoughts on Fintech innovation and its road ahead.
When it comes to the future trends within the industry, Claire believes all areas of ESG, in all its components, will keep growing as financial services are at the heart of solving upcoming challenges with technology. Claire goes into details of some of the investments and partnerships Société Générale have worked with to help support the cause, such as EcoTree, which are offering carbon emissions offsetting credit by calculating the emissions of a tree and then turning this into a token which can be offered to financial customers to meet their net-zero trajectory; and also Bodyguard, a startup protecting children from cyberbullying and finding resources to support them, which is provided with their insurance business for school insurance.
Claire also shares more on her thoughts of the leading innovations in the industry including BaaS being combined with payment experts to be able to offer e-Commerce solutions and also crypto and tokenisation to help revamp the chain of the capital markets.
