Humans are social animals. We create languages, paint pictures, and sing songs in order to communicate and connect with one another. Variations of those first early smoke signals sent out over millions of years – from Gutenberg kickstarting a cultural and scientific revolution, to telegraph and radio waves sending news and information across borders, to creative teenagers who convince their parents to perform embarrassing dances on TikTok – we are all looking to engage, meet up, and collectively explore what it means to be human.
We, as social animals, have long created tools and technology to better connect when physical interaction is impossible, not viable or simply not safe – effectively making distance, irrelevant.
As a business, VC Innovations provides Content, creates Communities, and offers Experiences to those working within the FinTech space. Our current global predicament – the response to the COVID-19 pandemic – should not pose a barrier to any of those things.
This was the impetus behind FTT Virtual/Spring.
We came together, as a team, and saw an opportunity to build a ‘Virtual-First’ FinTech experience that allows our industry to view discussions, engage in debates, and most importantly, network with their peers. The answer to all of this was not to just start offering ‘webinars’ – sending them out to a dazed and anxious public in the hope that an audience will gather who still needs to hear about the emerging open finance ecosystem, digital transformation efforts and new FinTech entrants. Maybe we were lucky not to have to try and salvage a huge, multi-day event with video, recorded conference calls and shared Power Point files. Our aim was to create something new. A new arena where we can still provide content, create a community and provide an experience.
On June 10th we ask you to join, with your peers, to experience FTT Virtual/Spring as we begin to define FinTech for the next decade. Our agenda will be filled with keynotes on innovation and technology, panels dedicated to the Future of Work and Open Finance, a debate on the nature of innovation at incumbent banks and a look at how the financial sector is responding to the Coronavirus.
Our main stage offering will be followed by ‘post game’ sessions – hosted by a community of industry thought leaders – that will allow our delegates to interact with each other and deconstruct what was said and presented along with other audience members. Networking rooms will be established to allow you to meet and connect with fellow delegates. We will even have exhibit booths, dotted around FTT Virtual/Spring, enabling attendees to discover new offerings and service providers and engage in one-on-one meetings.
We saw our current, albeit strange and sometimes scary, environment not as a reason to react, but as an opportunity to build. To search out, evaluate and explore the tools and technology on offer that can make the threat of isolation, irrelevant.
On June 10th we invite you to, grab a beer, and join us for a day long ‘Virtual-First’ Festival that will be FTT Virtual/Spring.
