FTT Embedded Finance & Super Apps brings together an exciting and fast-growing community of innovators and industry leaders, including retailers, manufacturers, financial institutions, insurers, telcos, fintechs and tech provider. Together they offer a diverse perspective on what has deemed a $7 trillion opportunity. The community, through compelling content and experiences, examines the technologies, innovations and trends re-defining the future of how financial services are crafted and distributed.
Lisa Moyle, our Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder, speaks to Raul Arribas, Chief Technology Officer at 11onze. 11onze is a fintech community offering the latest generation of banking services and financial education, to its members: Catalans residing in the autonomous community of Catalonia, as well as in France, Germany amongst others. 11onze is in the process of building its super app; El Canut, which includes cards, an aggregated financial services overview, money management dashboard, instant payments and transfers, savings and loan options for its retail customers. They are also exploring catering to commercial customers, with a proposition of a self-service financial platform designed to aid businesses to better manage their liquidity.
In this exciting interview, Raul and Lisa explore the opportunities for super apps, discussing how 11onze is building its super app for its particular community, as well as exploring broader opportunities in the market.
“We think that is very important to build products that are useful for your customers, and there is no better way to deliver your customers than addressing the needs of a given community, so we try to get very close to them and understand their needs, so we can build products and services that are very good for them, not just for us.” Raul explains when asked about 11onze’s proposition and business model. He adds that it is very important that customers stay engaged and that is supported by products that are built specifically for them.
To successfully achieve this engagement, they have built a private social network called “La Plaça”. La Plaça in Catalan means the square, a place where typically people would gather and talk about different topics, reflecting the primary purpose for which this social network was built. “We also try to provide good financial education and literacy, because our aim is to build a super app that includes a huge diversity of financial services, so we want our customers to decide which ones are good for them and add value, we don’t want to push random products”.
